Moving Day
It has been a very long week. We are tired, we ache, we have sawdust in our socks and paint under our fingernails. Laundry and mail pile up at home and it’s been so long since we have seen the insides of our own refrigerators we wonder if we should knock before we open the door. Although the work continues, the bulk of the construction is finished, and today is Moving Day- the day when the set moves from the shop in Kent to the stage in Tacoma.
Friday will be long as many hands assemble the pieces on stage. The platforms go up first, then the flats, and then all the trim. There are still things left to paint, and while I do that, Tracy will be dressing the stage- drapes on windows, books on shelves, perhaps a Persian slipper containing pipe tobacco somewhere.
I will be there bright and early Friday with my camera to snap a few photos of the Big Move, but until then, here are a couple from our busy week in the shop.
