Technical Challenges
It has been an interesting couple of weeks here. Educating Rita opened last Friday, May 15th. For three weeks prior to opening, we at Theatre Northwest worked long hours, getting this production ready. Things were hectic, but going well. I had been taking photos and downloading them, trying to find time to do several blog entries. Then on May 11…poof! Our website and blog had disappeared! Our email did not work, and it was obvious that someone else now owned our domain name, theatrenorthwest.net. We won’t go into the tedious details, but thanks to techno-savvy Joe Izenman from Sitecrafting (also beloved son of yours truly) we are back as theatrenorthwestgroup.org, a domain on which we hope to have a little tighter grip. Joe retrieved our blog from who-knows-where, but in the process, we seem to have lost all our photos. So as I welcome you all back, I must also ask you to bear with me as I rebuild this blog, and add new, photo-filled entries.
In the meantime, please do come to see Educating Rita. Casi and Steve are wonderful in this play about a student and her tutor. The set, once again designed by Kurt Walls, has a most unusual frieze, our guest lighting designer Matt Lawrence has done a great job making the stage beautiful, and who can resist a play with real rain? Good seats are still available for the next two weekends. Click on the Broadway Center link to the right of this entry.
Coming soon in this blog– a backstage look at props-building and rain-making.
